The starting point of the first control (not the label) in a screen row for a group layout is determined by the length of the longest label in this group. If this length is different for different group layouts , there will be no alignment for the first fields in the different group layouts.Adding blanks to the lengthen the label does not work, they get stripped on display. At the group layout level, a property "maximum label width" does existif there were somehting like a "minimum label width" that would help.
