After opening an existing WPF application in blend while connected to our TFS 2010 based source control system, I get a dialog titled 'Blend' containing a progress bar at 50% and the label 'Source Control: Get Status'. This dialog appears and quickly disappears about every second, preventing me from being able to actually use blend. During the short periods while the dialog is not visible, the cursor turns to a 'waiting' icon, so I'm guessing it's probably still doing something.

If I disconnect my network adapter, the source control refresh will time out and show a dialog stating that Blend is unable to connect to the source control server, and then I can work in blend normally (without source control support).

I tried opening a few different projects that are bound to source control, and I had this issue with all of them. I'm not sure if there would be something special about my environment, or if TFS 2010 and the Blend beta for VS 11 just don't play nicely in general.

Thanks for letting me know. Looks like we have two copies of the same issue in our database so I've duplicated this to the original. We're working on a fix.

Thanks!

I'm getting the same thing using Visual Studio 2012 RC and Blend on the Release Preview of Windows 8. Pretty much renders Blend unusable because every time the dialog pops up it steals focus from whatever you are trying to do.

However, the samething happen on Windows 8 Xaml Metro style apps with TFS preview : the Get Source Control Status popup poping out at every action you make on a file (event just opening the properties tab)

And that was also in Blend for Visual Studio 11 Beta, right? If so then that release should not have allowed a Silverlight project to be opened, either. That release was only meant to support XAML Metro style and HTML Metro style and nothing else is supported. Again, I'm sorry for our faux pas here.

Hi, thanks for filing the bug report. It so happens that Blend for Visual Studio 11 Beta should not have allowed WPF projects to be opened, and the fact that it does is a mistake. It's not a supported use case with that release and I sincerely apoligize for the inconvenience.
