When creating SampleData it often happens that you need somthing like an SelectedItem inside the SampleViewModel. It would be really nice to be able to say I like to have a new complex property by a specific type. At least a type selection for complex types allready defined in the sampledata xsd would help.

Hi, Lars, I think this is a great idea and I'll add it to my backlog of potential improvements to sample data. What I'm thinking is that in addition to the current three menu items for adding new properties, we could have an additional one that adds a property of a type that's already defined in the C# file that represents the sample data source (I understand that this is for New Sample Data, not Sample Data From Class). I can't guarantee whether nor when this will be implemented so since I now have a record of the suggestion in my spec I will resolve this bug report as By Design (I think that's the safest thing to do since I don't want to resolve it Fixed prematurely and I'd rather err on the safe side). This mechanism isn't a perfect medium for filing long-term suggestions but we'll make it work! :)

Thanks again,
Steve White (Blend and VS XAML Designer Program Mananger)
