Welcome to the Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) site on Microsoft Connect!

The Windows Communication Foundation is Microsoft's unified development platform and runtime for secure, reliable, transactional, and interoperable connected applications which ships in the .NET Framework. WCF is a service-oriented programming model which simplifies the development of connected systems by focusing on unifying a broad array of distributed systems capabilities in a composable and extensible architecture, spanning transports, security systems, messaging patterns, encodings, network topologies, and hosting models.

Through this site, you can:

  • Submit suggestions and feedback for new/existing features in which the Windows Communication Foundation Product Team will evaluate for future version
  • Report errors in the product, tooling and documentation that will be investigated by the Product Team
  • Find out about the different resources you can use to learn about WCF
  • Be aware of upcoming advancements for WCF
  • Participate in the Windows Communication Foundation community

As a customer-driven organization that is passionate about giving you the tools that you need, we look forward to receiving your feedback. Any feedback, positive and negative, will help us make the product better and optimize it to suit your application scenarios.
