User Preferences

  1. This is the Global settings for the Utility.
  2. How to access:
    • Right click on system tray icon
    • Select the “User Preferences” option from the context menu
  3. "Show All available files" button:
    • The available packages will be shown on a grid on the User Preference window
    • Expand the Package row
    • Corresponding file details will be shown as grid with Download checkbox option on each row

    Note: Download Column will be used for both Ignore and Re-downloading the files

    • For Ignored Files: “Downloads” will be shown as “0”. LastDownloadDate will be shown as blank. By selecting the download checkbox and clicking on Ok/Apply will download the selected files in the next iteration
    • Download files: By selecting the corresponding file level download checkbox and click on Ok/Apply, the selected files will be downloaded in the next iteration
  4. Search filter:User can search for the past downloads by providing the proper search criteria (according to date range or recent activity) based upon which the resulting packages or files will be displayed in the grid.

  5. Download File Path:

    Using this option user can change the default download file path into which the files need to be downloaded.

  6. Check new file interval:: In this textbox, customers will be able to set the amount of time (in minutes) for triggering the download utility. Suppose if the customer gives a time interval of 2 minutes, then after every 2 minutes download utility will be triggered.
  7. Apply & Ok buttons:
    • Apply: Changes made on the window will get saved and the window will remains as is
    • Ok: Changes made on the window will get saved and window will be closed
  8. Check new file Interval:

    Option will be given as a up/down arrow field at bottom of the screen to set the downloads trigger interval

    Ex: As default Utility triggers the downloads for every 1 hour, If the value of the interval field is set to 20 Min, From next iteration onwards Utility will start trigger every 20 min.

  9. Global Options:

    On selecting the ‘Global Options’ checkbox, following two radio buttons will be enabled:

    • Download All:If the user selects this option and clicks on ‘OK’ then all the available files will get downloaded to the user’s local machine.
    • Ignore All: If the user selects this option and clicks on ‘OK’ then all the files will be ignored and none of them will be downloaded.

Check for available files

With this option, Downloads will be triggered again and

  1. Packages which are having the User preferences option set to “Prompt” will be displayed in the notification window.
  2. Packages which are having the User preferences option set to “Always” will be downloaded in the background.
  3. Packages which are having the User preferences option set to “Ignore” will not be shown in the notification window as well will not be downloaded.
  4. Notification window will be displayed with all the available Packages as a Grid and each package row having a User preference Dropdown and which contains the three values “Always”, “Prompt”, “Ignore”.
    • Always: If the user preference value for a particular package is set to ‘Always’, the corresponding selected files will always be downloaded in the background i.e., every time whenever download utility is triggered.
    • Prompt: If the user preference value for a particular package is set to ‘Prompt’, for every selected file in that package, customer will be prompted if he wants to download that file or not. The selected files in that package will be downloaded depending upon the customer’s response.
    • Ignore: If the user preference value for a particular package is set to ‘Ignore’, then all files in that package will be ignored and will not be downloaded.
  5. For Each package “Expand/Collapse” options will be given to see the available files under the respective package.
  6. For each package an Checkbox will be given so that user can select/un select at package level itself and the status is reflected to child [file level] as well.
  7. On Package expansion, corresponding files will be displayed as a sub-grid where user can choose the desired files to be downloaded/Ignored (By default all the files will be selected on package expansion).
  8. Ignore Files: If any file unchecked and that file will be considered as a Ignored and the file will not be shown further in the notification window (To enable that file, User need to go to the User preference window and enable the file from the Package grid)
  9. Download All Files/Download Selected Files buttons: In the Notification window, all the packages/files will be checked by default and the Button text will be shown as “Download All Files”. If any file/Package is unselected from the default grid, the button text will be change to “Download Selected files” and the selected files will be downloaded and the package/File level settings will be saved.
  10. Snooze Notification:
    • User could set the time interval and snooze the notification for some time.
    • Time value of will be in Hours, like 1, 2, 3...10 Hours
    • Case1: If the Utility kept on snooze only Notifications will be snoozed and remaining downloads process will be works as it is.
    • Case2: To Un-snooze/Reset: Right click on System try icon-> Select the “Check for Available files”, the notification window will be pops up and the Utility timer will be set back to the default and the entire download process will be run as it has setup.
  11. Notification window will get vanished if at all the control (mouse hover) not present on the top of the window.

Logout

If the user want to logout of the utility then he need to click on this option resulting the download process will be stopped.

Exit

This option will stops the entire Utility process (The files which are under process of downloading also get stopped) and the Icon in the System tray also will not be shown but the User still continue as Logged In User.

If the User runs the Utility next time, Utility downloads the files as earlier without asking for login screen

  • To see the downloaded files, customer should do either of the following
    1. Navigate to the download path provided by User in the user preferences window
    2. Clicking on Utility Icon from the system tray
    3. On each iteration of Download Utility trigger, the number of files which are successfully downloaded will be shown as balloon popup.
