The Conduit Search Page has taken over my Internet Explorer's start up page. I have been successful in removing (replacing/overriding) it from Mozilla and Google but not IE 8, 9 or 10. I have tried all normal cleaning methods described on the web. I have tracked it down to the "Start Page" in my registry. Even when I have successfully removed all traces of "Conduit" from my computer, the "...search.conduit.com..." string replaces the content of my registry "Start Page" file upon computer startup.
I have three main questions: (1) How do I prevent search.conduit.com from replacing the content of my start page upon startup? (2) Why don't IE's settings screens and reset options override the search.conduit.com like they do in Mozilla and Google? (3) Why aren't Window's and IE's user entered preference settings more resilient in not allowing adware, redirects... to take over?
