I am using Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center, IE11. This installed on an HP G7-1237dx Notebook. 8gb Ram with 500 GB drive.

I am having the same issue. Out of curiosity I disabled the Bing Search bar and all related addons. So far this seems to have cured the issue.
