Cannot install Powershell v3 on a genuine freshly installed and activated SW_DVD5_Win_Pro_7w_SP1_64BIT_English_MLF_X17-28603 .

Failure configuring windows updates...revrting changes.

I have tried 3 times. Its a virtual machine running on VMWare.

Update: Installing Framework 4 like svnpenn suggested fixes it

We believe this is fixed in WMF 3.0 CTP2.

PowerShell 3 requires .NET Framework 4, as listed in the Release Notes.

The problem is that the installer does not check to see if it is installed, it only fails at the end with no explanation.
