Description

When you double click on a cmdlet or variable name in the PS ISE v3 it doesn't select the entire cmdlet/variable name. Unlike other text editors, PS ISE is meant for working with PowerShell code, so it should make some assumptions to make it more PowerShell friendly.

Example 1: Get-Help
- if you double click on Help, only "Help" is selected, but is should select "Get-Help".

Example 2: $someVariable
- if you double click somewhere in "someVariable", only "someVariable" is selected, but it should select "$someVariable".

This tiny UI tweak would make a huge difference, and would be noticed by almost everybody who uses PS IDE.

I agree. This would be a great improvement!

This wouldn't be that difficult to implement, either; it could use the same syntax check mechanisms as syntax highlighting on double-click. It could even just check the color of the text, to be really <strike>lazy</strike> sneaky... ;)
