Description

Get-Module today supports lookup by module name only. It should also support lookup by module GUID, to enable more advanced scenarios such as module auto-update via a central repository (where GUID is much more critical to know than name since name may not be unique in a global repository). I would expect to be able to look up a loaded or unloaded module by GUID (perhaps as an -Id parameter).

If this is actually possible with the FullyQualifiedName parameter on Get-Module, then can you please provide a working example that demonstrates this? In everything I have tried with that parameter, nothing allows me to find a module using a GUID. In fact, if I provide a GUID and I use a wildcard for the name, all modules are returned, indicating to me that the GUID is being completely ignored.
