The query_hash and query_plan_hash actions in extended events do not have the same data types as the columns in the DMVs sys.dm_exec_requests, and sys.dm_exec_query_stats. That makes it difficult to correlate the information.

It would be good if the data types for the actions in extended events could be changed to the same that are used in the DMVs. If you don't want to change the data types for the existing actions, you could also add new actions. Another option could be to provide a conversion function.

On the relevant xEvents, new columns query_hash_signed and query_plan_hash_signed allow you to join with DMVs.

I would also like a description of how this has been fixed, so we know what to expect.

Are there any additional details? Will they be included in the release notes?
