Intellisense enable/disable icon in Management Studio 2008 RTM (same applyies for RC0)
10/2/2008 5:18:18 PM
User(s) can reproduce this bug
As of now, current Intelli-sense icon just creates an illusion that you can enable/disable this feature while it's designed to be disabled (not implemented).
Let me guess you read this feedback and decided to implement it? :)
SQL Server 2008 - Developer Edition
Integration Services (DTS)
Windows XP SP2 Professional
Operating System Language
Steps to Reproduce
Open SQL Server 2005 instance with SSMS 2008.
Intelli-sense icon can be clicked to change status from enable to disable and vise versa.
If there is no plan for SSMS 2008 to support 2005 instance with Intelli-sense, then Intelli-sense enable/disable icon should be grayed-out, i.e. picture should be disabled. This icon should be enabled only then SSMS 2008 connects to SQL Server 2008 instance.

Thank you for reporting this problem. We will looking into right option - disabling the icon - for a future release of SQL Server when SSMS is connected to pre-SQL Server 2008 servers.
