This is very frustrating. I have encountered this issue numerous times and it should be a working feature by now. Microsoft, please get this in place for those of us who rely on SSRS in their daily activities!

This is still an issue in RS 2008 even RS 2008 R2 .... I am unable to compute running balance page wise due to this constraint. This option is highly desirable in Reporting Services

Thank you for your suggestion.

Per the RDL specification, accessing the current page number from within the report body is not supported. Using custom code to workaround this limitation is not supported, because it would rely on intrinsic expression evaluation order and pagination/rendering order which is not documented and also has changed between RS 2005 and RS 2008.

We will consider adding this as a new feature in a supported, declarative way via RDL ReportObjectModel enhancements in a future release, and in the meantime also monitor customer vote counts.
