Dear customer,

Unfortunately we were unable to reproduce the issue you reported. It is likely that the issue depends on the schema of r_server.database.[dbo].[table_1] and @tmp (and perhaps the data as well). If you can provide these to us, we'll be happy to investigate further.

Best regards,

1. Query
            UPDATE r_server.database.[dbo].[table_1]
                SET field=0
                FROM @tmp t inner join r_server.database.[dbo].[table_1] tb
                on t.id = tb.id
2. Operating System: Windows Server 2003 (64 bit)
SQL Server 2005 Standard (64 bit)

Dear Customer,

Thanks for reporting on the provider problem with linked servers in SQL Server 2005. In order to help us better troubleshoot the problem, would it be possible for you to provide us with the following?

1. The query that’s causing the problem;
2. The version of SQL Server you are using; and if possible
3. Relevant parts of your database schema.

Thanks much in advance for your input and help with this investigation.

Regards,

Joachim Hammer
