Description

For VLDBs, it would be useful to have an option to specify which tables to omit when running DBCC CHECKDB.

Hi Ryan,

While it could be a workaround, it's not a great one. Many larger customers have a large number of tables but only a few large tables. What they want to be able to do is to check everything in the database except those one or two large tables. The workaround in this situation is quite ugly.

Regards,

Greg

Thanks for your suggestion. At this time we are not going to implement the option you've requested. A script that does multiple CHCEKTABLE operations on a user-created database snapshot, or using DBCC CHECKFILEGROUP for the tables you're interested in is a reliable and, in our option, non-onerous workaround.

Thanks,
