Add a new option to "add row number" to the OLE DB Source component.
Using row numbers within a Data Flow is a very common requirement when doing inter-row comparisons or rankings. Currently, this requirement can be filled by using a synchronous Script component. However, it would be much easier and reliable to add this simple capability to the OLE DB Source.

It would be VERY USEFUL. The existing solutions are: 3rd party component - not acceptable, temp table - not elegant / requiring a database object, so data flow disrupting, script component - questionable performance.

Another good suggestion, but unfortunately unlikely to make it into "Denali." If you have any more information that might cause us to re-evaluate the priority of this request, please let us know.

Such an add-on would be fantastic! No more fuddling with 3rd party components or writing a script component!

I agree with Sudeep Raj. If the feature ia added, why not add it for all Sources?

To take this a step forward, it would be really nice to have similar feature in all the Sources available in the Data Flow Task and the user should have the option of setting it ON or OFF.
