When creating a view using the query designer, and you CAST/CONVERT a value to BIGINT, and execute the SQL in the designer - it will fail with the following error message:
SQL Execution Error.
Executed SQL statement: SELECT CAST(value AS bigint).ToString() FROM ....
Error Source: .Net SqlClient Data Provider
Error Message: Cannot call methods on bigint.
Im wondering why SSMS is doing ".ToString()" ?

But it's possible to save the view, and then select from it normally without the error message popping up.

Hi Korsg,

Thanks for reporting this issue. We investigated the bug on our side, but since you can workaround the issue by saving the view, this doesn't meet the bar to fix.

Thanks again for taking the time to pass this bug on to us.
