Description

When installing on a single server deployment, with Active Directory. I selected a domain local security group to specify what users have permission to the DRC.

The domain group is excepted, and so I finished installation. During the real installation step: Installation Progress an error is displayed:
The following error occured: The specified user <domain>\SQL03DRCAdministrators does not exists.

The server execpted the group in the previous step so why now fail

Hi Shirley,

When no groups are allowed you should also make it not possible to add a group account during the setup page:
Distributed Replay Controller > Specify Distributed Replay Controller Service Access Permissions

Hi Arjan,

To specify what users have permission to Distributed Replay, only user accounts are allowed as input and not group accounts.

The error you are seeing earlier, “The specified user <domain>\SQL03DRCAdministrators does not exist” is not accurate and could be misleading. This has been fixed in RC0, where the error message will be:

“The specified account is a group account. You can only use a user account.”
