Hello,
Messenger service is removed from Windows Windows Vista onwards. SQL Agent was checking if Messenger service was started and reports error message in SQLAgent Log. Agent continues functioning without any issues.

Net Send is announced for deprecation from SQL 2008 onwards - http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc879341(v=sql.100).aspx. Please consider using other notification mechanism like DatabaseMail

We shall work on removing this error message in future version of SQL Server

Thanks
