Description

Hi, there is a lack of documentation that we still need folders in the Mountpoints in sql 2012 and windows 2012 server. The mountpoints should be formatted just before the setup otherwise the os creates this system volume information and the installation will fail.

There are two options:
1) you create folders in the mountpoints
2) you install SQL right after the formatting

According to the documentation: Putting files in the root directory of the mount point is supported.
Could you please extend the documentation that it is still recommended to use Subdirectories.

Thanks!

... And, I will update http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189910.aspx for that. Updated content should be live on MSDN in one week.

OK, after a lot of asking around, I finally got an answer...Formatting a drive after mounting additional drives is not supported.

Hope this helps.

Hello,
Thank you for reporting this issue. Is this the topic you were looking at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms189910.aspx, or is these another topic that you found?

Kind regards,
