Linked Server created using a script is missing Product name or Data source: fields - by AnupSivaDas (AnupWarrier)

Description

We scripted out a Linked Server on a SQL2005 box, then ran it for a SQL2012 box (SP1 & CU2).  That created the Linked Server and it tests fine,but below is the issue - 

It does not show anything in the Product name: or Data source: fields when checked via SSMS(Linked Server-->Properties)  which is useful information when you're troubleshooting issues. This is missing and not an expected behavior.

Hello

We took a look at this bug along with several others recently.
Unfortunately, triaging it against other critical bugs, I do not think we would get to investigating this in the near future.
However, we have taken note of this internally, and when we revisit this functionality in the future, we will try and get this resolved.
