Please make query/results in MS SQL Server Management Studio query and results windows detachable. I am tired of fighting space limitations by cut and paste methods. To organize multiple detached query/results windows it might be worthwhile to add a cascading view of multiple query/results windows that are individually floating, as well.

Simply clicking and holding down the left mouse key on the SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) Query tab and dragging the current query tab window out of SSMS window works very nicely in SQL Server 2012. That is what I wanted!

Thank you very much!

Hello marcelpi. This issue will be closed as won't fix. If this is not satisfactory, please let us know. (Thanks to Andrew for your additional clarification.) -Walter A Jokiel, Program Manager, SQL Server (wajokiel@microsoft.com)

As was mentioned, you can drag the queries out by dragging the tab out of SSMS. If you want to have floating windows in SSMS as you had prior to 2012, join the "bring back the old MDI Environment option" movement. https://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/details/713996/ssms-2012-bring-back-mdi-environment

Hello marcelpi. While queries cannot presently be stacked outside of being docked in SSMS, they can be externalized by dragging the query the tab out of SSMS. Is that the functionality you meant? -Walter A Jokiel, Program Manager, SQL Server (wajokiel@microsoft.com)
