Odd enough I only need SQL for one program, Switched On Schoolhouse (S.O.S.). A home-school program. I have had this program for a few years and have never needed an SQL server for it until a few days ago. The first day I loaded up the SQL server the program S.O.S. started running again (I don't know why SOS stopped in the first place). Now today the same problem is happening. I need an SQL server. So I go into SQL Server Configuration Manager and All the programs are stopped except SQL server Browser. I tried to load up the SQL that was connected to SOS because it was stopped, it took about 25 or so seconds which is irregular since I have a good computer, then when it was done loading this came up.
SQL Server Configuration Manager
The request failed or the service did not respond in a timely fashion.
Consult the event log or other applicable error logs for details.
Then it goes back to stopped mode. I don't know what that means and I can't find the event log. I have looked up some videos but non of them say what to do if your SQL server you want to start will not start. HELP PLEASE :(
Also when I load up SQL Server 2012 it does not connect when I press connect.
