Problem statement:
In order to convert text to an enum Enum.Parse must be used. In order to ensure robustness and to validate the data, exceptions must be used for this normal logic becuase there is still no Enum.TryParse method.

This was logged twice back in 2005, can this simple addition be made for Oracs?

Agree with previous poster. Add this to .NET 4.0.

Hey, you finally did Guid.TryParse, how about this one too? Please?

Thanks for the feature request!

Adding Enum.TryParse is a highly requested feature. We'll definitely consider this for the next release of the .NET Framework after .NET 3.5.
