Description

In Team Foundation Server 2008 SP1 check-in event e-mail alert notification doesn't works well after it was configured for Work Item Hyperlinks to use Team System Web Access. (using TfsAdminUtil.exe configureconnections /TSWAUri:http://tswa)

In the notification email the Items are not listed and the following message appears in the email: "Details about this check-in were not available when this alert was prepared. Select the link above to view more details about the check-in."

In Trace log file the following exception appears on every checkin event:
[VC] [Error, PID 2560, TID 3172, 06:31:47.623] Exception:  {
Exception Message: Malformed Artifact URLhttp://tfs2:8090/?cs=20768 (type ArgumentException)

Fabio,

Is it still not "no later than the end of this month'?

Alex,

Looks like they're just waiting to release the fix. I understand that this problem may be looked at as something that is not severe, but I wish there as a bigger sense of urgency on getting this out. At least a better defined time frame would be helpful.

Is there a way to request a hotfix?

Unfortunatelly, we did it on the production server. How do we disable /TSWAUri?

We wanted to give a brief update on this issue. The initial phases (investigation, fix design and implementation) are complete. We are in the process of deployment preparation and validation that will be followed by a final testing phase. The hotfix *should* be available no later than the end of this month.

We will post status as the process progresses.

Thanks

Somebody could help me find out how to get a hotfix for this issue? I know it's a shame but i didn't managed to find the way how to submit a hotfix request on http://support.microsoft.com/
Thanks,
David.

Fabio,

Any word if this is going to be a hotfix in the next week or just at some point before the next Service Pack?

Thanks.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

We have found the problem with check-in notifications when TSWA URL is registered via tfsadminutil.exe (it is indeed in the code that you found via reflector). We plan to issue a hotfix to address the problem and in the meantime we recommend other users to refrain from using this feature.

I'm getting the same problems in the check-in emails. I'm not sure where to fine the error log.
