HTTP Date Request Header Is Not Sent by HttpWebRequest

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1140553/asp-net-httpwebrequest-date-header-workaround is looking for a way to send the Date header in an HTTP request. Although it is optional in the HTTP specification (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2616.txt, 14.18, "Date"), this header is required by the server he's trying to communicate with.

Steps to Reproduce
Send any request via HttpWebRequest. Examine the headers with Fiddler.
No Date header is sent.
Date header is sent with the DateTime of the request.
