Description

Using the automation model (EnvDTE) of the VS 2010 Dec LCTP to get the values of background colors of the text editor items such as "String", "Keyword", etc. (specified in the "Tools", "Options" dialog, "Environment", "Fonts and Colors" section) return incorrect values.

This is broken in 2012 and VS 2013. Please fix this issue.

Hi Carlos,

Thank you for reporting this issue. We unfortunately don't have time to address everything we'd like to fix before VS 2010 RTM, so I'm resolving this item as Won't Fix. As a workaround, you could use the plain text background color if a particular item's background color returns zero. Another option would be to move away from DTE and toward the new editor's classification model, which provides easier, more customizable access to text formatting; this would require more work initially but give more flexibility going forward.

If you have any further questions or comments about this issue, please feel free to post again here and we'll be happy to help. Thank you for trying the Visual Studio 2010 LCTPs and sending your feedback!
