Description

OS: Windows 7 x64
VC: Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate

I just installed GLUT because was missing from the Windows SDK.
I put glut32.lib in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Lib
I put glut32.dll in C:\Windows\system32
I put glut.h in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Include\gl

My program links fine, but when I go to run it, "The program can't start because glut32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

C:\>dir %windir%\System32\glut32.dll
Volume in drive C has no label.
 Volume Serial Number is -

 Directory of C:\Windows\System32

answer might be late, but here it is..

"...you must copy glut32.lib and glew32.lib into \Windows\SysWOW64 instead of \Windows\System32"

I have this same issue. The program compiles and should be running, but does not. This is a major issue.

The GLUT library is not part of the Windows SDK.

For general assistance with Windows development, please use the General Windows Development Issues forum on the MSDN forums site.
