Description

If an exception occurs debugging a console application the console window remains open after stopping the debug

The window cannot be removed even by the task manager

Cannot shutdown the PC either - have use the power switch or unplug PC

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your patient.

This problem is a known issue; actually, it is caused by a bug in WinXP and Win2003 version of OS.

We already have a hotfix for this issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/982551

Thank you for reporting this issue. Unfortunately, we are unable to reproduce the issue with the steps you provided. We tried to repro with the following steps:

1. Create a Console App.
2. Fire a IndexOutOfRangeException.

Could you please provide us with the following information?

1. What kind of the exception this issue relates.
2. A sample project zip.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could provide us this information as quickly as possible.
