1> Please choose the Technical Support command on the Visual C++
1> Help menu, or open the Technical Support help file for more information

To save your time, I cannot give you the entire project so you can reproduce the error. Now happens every time.

You will have to go by the error code, or tell me how to get more info.

The two suggestions in the error are useless; Technical Support command on the Visual C++ Help menu opens the help viewer with a "Cannot display the webpage" error, and what is the "Technical Support help file"?

Thank you for sharing the log. This bug has been fixed in current in-progresss development of Visual Studio and the fix will be available in the next major release.
In your log, there's an empty /D passed to the compiler in the command line, that's causing the C++ compiler driver (cl.exe) to crash. You can remove that as a workaround until you upgrade to next VS version.

I have attached the dx log you requested. This log was produced by loading an empty (all comment and "#if 0" lines) .cpp file, and attempting compile by Ctrl-F7. This produces the same error message as doing a complete rebuild.

This project was converted from VS6 to VS2010, and is all C++/MFC.

Thank you for reporting this issue.
In order to determine what is going on here, we will need the diagnostic log for the build. In order to produce this, please go to "Tools" menu, and then "Options...". Next, expand the "Projects and Solutions" tree and select "Build and Run". On the page that comes up on the right, please select "Diagnostic" under the second to last option, "MSBuild project build output verbosity". Then click Ok to the dialog, and build the project using the "Rebuild Solution" from the "Build" menu. Once the project has completed building, please copy all output from the Output window (you can open the output window by going to the "View" menu, and select the "Output" view) and paste into a text document. Then, please attach the document to this bug.
