There have been significant server side changes in TFS 2011 Beta so you are required to use the Visual Studio 2011 Beta to create a new team project. We are looking at how we can solve this problem longer term (with a VS update) but for now - that's the only option.

I am not sure if I am right here,
My scenario is Windows Server 9 configured TFS 2011 Beta with Share2010 and Reporting services + Analysis Service.

Connected using visual studio 2010 but not able to create project, so I downloaded Visual Studio 2011 Beta, used TFS explorer 2011 to do that for me things went fine now other operations are fine with visual studio 2010.

Hope this helps some one fallen in same problem.
