In Visual studio 2010,the default control tabs such as Common controls,menu and Toolbars,Data,Components,Printing,Dialogs,etc) suddenly disappeared in ToolBox. Now only Visual basic powerPacks tabs appears in the toolbox.I tried all the possible solutions with the help of google like 1) reset the toolbox . 2)delete the *.tbd. 3)execute the devenv /setup  and  devenv /resetsettings .

But no luck..

Thanks for your feedback. This is fixed in VS11 and we will probably not go back and fix this in VS2010. Could you try the below steps to fix this in VS2010?

Close all instances of VS and delete the hidden files %localappdata%\microsoft\visualstudio\11.0\*.tbd.
Start VS with the “/log” parameter, e.g. “devenv /log %userprofile%\vslog.xml”.
If the toolbox is still empty, send us the log file that was generated by step 2.
