I tried to create an MFC dialog application with VS 2012 RTM, but the Toolbox did not display any of the common controls.

Thanks for the report. We have not been able to reproduce this issue. The toolbox is populated with controls (including the MFC-specific controls like "MFC Button Control" when the dialog is opened in the resource editor.

Can you try repairing your Visual Studio installation? If the problem continues, please send as much information as you can about the issue (including a screen shot of the toolbox and what is selected in the IDE).

I'm also seeing this problem when opening an existing MFC app. Toolbox is empty.
