After installing TFS 2012 (using standard installation) and Visual Studio Team Viewer 2012 I successfully setup Continuous Integration with gated check in and added MS Build Arguments to automatically deploy my package to a remote server using IIS 7.5 (WMSVC connection).

When checking in my code the gated check-in was building my solution on the build server and running all my test methods. When the check policy and the build succeeded my check-in was submitted but the auto deployment via MSBuild was not deploying the package when adding the needed MSBuild Arguments.

I ran MSBuild from the command line using the same solution and build arguments on my local machine and everything was fine, the solution built and the package was deployed successfully to the remote server. I also setup Web Deploy on the project and this was also successful.

I then proceeded to run MSBuild from the command line on the build server to check for any errors there, the solution successfully built on the build server but no attempts were made to publish the package files to IIS, also no errors were ruturned in the command line.

Web Deploy 3.0 via WPI was already installed prior to setting up CI, please see my stackoverflow post to see the steps I took to get it working.

Hi Andy,

You will need to install Web Deploy from Web Platform Installer. The TFS SKU doesn't install all of the project types that VS Ultimate does. Otherwise it would be just as big!
