Description

After installing Update 1 CTP 3 no projects loads, and no new projects can be created.

Error on attempting to create a new project:

The composition produced a single composition error. The root cause is provided below. Review the CompositionException.Errors property for more detailed information.



1) No exports were found that match the constraint: 
	ContractName	Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.Interop.IVsHierarchy
	RequiredTypeIdentity	Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.Interop.IVsHierarchy
	RequiredCreationPolicy	Shared



Resulting in: Cannot set import 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Project.VS.Implementation.VSUnconfiguredProjectIntegrationService.IVsHierarchy (ContractName="Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.Interop.IVsHierarchy")' on part 'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Project.VS.Implementation.VSUnconfiguredProjectIntegrationService'.

I got the same problem posted above after downloading update 1 for VS 2012 RC. I could not create C++ project nor load C++ project worked before.

Hello I have reproduced the same error with the same consequences; I can not create any new projects in VS 2012 after installing the CTP 3 update.

In order to fix the issue, we must first reproduce the issue in our labs. In order to efficiently investigate and reproduce this issue, we are requesting additional information outlined below.

Could you please give us vs setup log so that we can conduct further research?

You can get the log files with the following steps:
1) Download collect.exe from the link below. <http://go.microsoft.com/?LinkId=8967043>
2) You may choose to save the tool for later use, or to run directly.
3) The utility creates a compressed cabinet of all the VS and .NET logs to %TEMP%\vslogs.cab.

Please submit this information to us within 4 business days. We look forward to hearing from you with this information.
