I have a relatively small C++ project, a few dozen files each about 200 lines or so. Increasingly VS2012 Express hangs, it doesnt show variables in the class view, rescanning solution or closing the solution takes it to a catatonic state where it just works and works and becomes unresponsive. TaskManager shows it using CPU time but it doesnt come back anymore. This is getting increasingly annoiyng and I am beginning to wonder if I made a mistake switching from VS2008 which ran very stable.
