When connecting to TFS 2012 in one domain, from VS2012 in another, the functions Project Alerts, Team Project Settings and Team Project Collection Settings (as well as others) result in the error:

Team Foundation Serror
Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password

These same functions in VS2010 work as expected.

Thank you for reporting this issue. This issue has been fixed in Visual Studio 2013. You can install a trial version of Visual Studio 2013 with the fix from: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9832436

We are using a NAT IP from the enterprise to access the TFS 2012 instance in the cloud. We are not using a TFS Proxy if that is what you are referring to.

Thanks for reporting this issue. Can you please confirm whether you're using Proxy to communicate with the TFS server when your client is on a different domain?
