Description

The feature of 'edit and continue' cannot work when a vb file is added as link, meanwhile a normal file is ok in same project.
I tried it for both VS2010 Pro and VS2012 Pro, same issue.

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us about this issue. We've investigated the problem and found that Edit and Continue for linked files was specifically disabled in 2003 because there are nasty problems that can occur with Edit and Continue if a file is linked into more than one project. Unfortunately, we won't be able to fix this for the next release of Visual Studio. However, I've added it to our future backlog.

Kind Regards,

Without the ability to do Edit & Continue on linked files our development team's productivity is severely hampered. It would really be great to hear back from MS when we might get some sort of access to a hotfix for this problem.
