After installing required MS Security updates, Visual Studio quits working properly and corrupts existing projects. When you ignore the error on opening a project and look to open the solution explorer, Visual Studio experiences a fatal crash and restarts.

Hi John,

This issue is because of a MEF cache corruption. Installing the feedback extension (or installing any extenion) will invalidate the cache causing VS to rebuild it. If you want to force VS to rebuild you can run, from and admin elevated command prompt, DevEnv.exe /Setup.

I'm closing this issue for now. Please reactivate if it turns up again and the above doesn't address.

Actually after installing the Microsoft Visual Studio 2012 Feedback Tool, the application appears to be working. It must have corrected the registry error. I will monitor and keep you advised if the problem continues.
