Description

After creating a new mvc project, the context menu to add an area to the project is missing.

EDIT: Found it at: [context menu] -> Add -> Scaffold... -> MVC 5 Area

After updating my MVC 4 solution to MVC 5 in Visual Studio 2012 update 3, my Add Area, Add Controller, and Add View menu options are missing when working in the solution. Removing the MVC 4 project GUID seems to wipe out the menu options.

Followed the steps here:

Thank's for submitting the feedback.

We actually plan to add back the add area context menu for RTM.

The solution to this is that access to add area is in the context menu Add --> Scaffold ..

My appologies, his is not a bug, just a new user getting familiar with where to find things.
