When entering locations for directions it would be helpful if the system were more intelligent about filling in location data. For example, when I am looking at the map of the UK and enter "Cambridge" the fact that it defaults to "Cambridge, MA" isn't helpful. If the system would provide possible options to partial matches that would be one solution.

More helpful still would be intelligent location matching when it comes to the second (and subsequent) points for directions. Again, if my first location is "Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom," and I enter for a second destination "Penrith," why does it default to Penrith, Australia, when there is a Penrith in northern England? In these cases it would be doubly useful if the system defaulted to a location in the same country if possible, then perhaps continent, and only then go worldwide. That or, again, providing a drop-down list of partial matches to choose from it would also solve the problem.
