Microsoft HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 3 Preview
is the pre-release version for the Update 3 of HPC Pack 2012 R2 (v4.5.5035, released on 31/8/2015).
This Beta version of HPC Pack 2012 R2 Update 3 Preview was released mainly for two new features evaluations:
Support Linux workload on HPC Pack cluster.
In July, 2015, we released the Update 2 of HPC Pack 2012 R2, it includes the support to run Linux workload
on HPC Pack cluster in Azure only. In Update 3 Preview, we introduced the support of Linux workload in
On-prem HPC Pack cluster as well. This is the first wave of Microsoft HPC product starts to support Linux workload. Please test this exciting new feature considering your daily HPC workload and tell us your feedbacks.
Support Burst to Azure Batch service.
Azure Batch Service reached GA in the July release wave. To leverage this great HPC capability in Azure
and improve the overall user experience, we introduced this feature in Update 3 Preview to burst the workload directly from HPC pack to Azure Batch Service.
